The Eternal Struggle

Defensiveness does not become you.  It is the ego that must defend itself constantly to survive.  When you find yourself explaining your actions even though the other is not listening, it is not the true Self you are defending, but the ego.  Catch yourself, hear your words, recognize ego at work, and stop.  Take a deep breath, perhaps two.  Focus on the third and fourth chakras and re-open them, for they surely will be out of balance if ego has been at work.  Then, remember who you are.  When this knowingness is strong enough, it overcomes ego with love, and then you can simply send love to that one to who you were pleading your case without being heard.  It was never about you anyway, but the other’s struggle with ego.  In sending love, you are helping to tame their beast and awaken the spirit within.

In Collaboration

Musical notes fall onto a page like raindrops, leaving round marks in a pattern.  They appear random, yet when sounded out, create a beautiful symphony.  From where did this music come?  From the mind of the composer?  Yes, but actually THROUGH it.  The composer’s mind is as much an instrument as is the instrument which will later play this piece of inspiration.
The same process occurs with creative writing and artistry.  Is it the artist’s mind that sees the image to be copied onto canvas, or is this a gift IMPLANTED in the mind’s eye to be shared with others as a hand-me-down gift from the artist? 

You may hold a musical instrument in your hand or a creative implement with which to write or paint.  You may be the instrument yourself when you act or speak or sing in an inspiring way that opens others to beauty and love.  Such is the way Love works through you. 

You are not a solo artist.  Always it is a collaborative effort with Spirit, and the more you are open to receive the gifts that come from a higher place more finely tuned than this present instrument you call a brain, the greater will be the gifts you pass along.  Be open and receptive, and receive the bounty and the blessings.

Perfection

How often do you stop to marvel at the perfection all around you?  Why are planets round and not square?  Why does a fish have gills?  Why does a bear's hair grow thicker in winter?  Does the bear need to ask it to do so?  Why do your cells divide?  Why do the plants and trees give off oxygen?  Why is your earth the perfect distance from your sun to support life … to allow YOUR life?

Why are you here?  To enjoy the perfection and to be a part of it. 

Do you think it is a random accident that you were born exactly when and where you were and to whom?  How could every element of nature be perfectly designed and exclude you?  This is not a world of random acts or designs.  Now take your perfection and appreciate it, please.  In so doing, you allow that part of you which is always perfect to blossom and let more of that perfection shine through.

Changeless

Hello from Suzanne:  I am just back from a full day of SOARing in San Jose (giving my SOAR workshop) and found that this morning's message from Sanaya that I posted bright and early never appeared on the website.  So, here it is - better late than never...  Blessings to everyone.

The human mind balks at change.  You can relax when you know that everything will be exactly as you have experienced it in the past from moment to moment.  Then you have predictability.  What is this?  It means that you have your crystal ball, you can see into it, and everything is as you know it.  But life is not like that.  There is no growth if there is no change.  You came here for your soul’s growth.  If you are ill-tempered and feeling overwhelmed, perhaps there are two many changes at once.  Take a break and do something familiar.  Retreat to a familiar place.  Do a familiar ritual that brings you peace.

Most importantly, know that you can retreat to that place within where nothing ever changes—that place where you are loved intensely—that place from which the real You arises.  All is calm there.  Rest there a while daily or even hourly when you find a part of you that you do not like peeking out.  Snapping and sniping are signs that you need to spend a bit of time with the part of you that is changeless.  Then, when you return to the ever-changing world of matter, you will remember what truly matters and make some changes.

What is Channeling?

Note from Suzanne:  Just before sitting to meditate this morning I received an email informing me that a Unity church in the north where someone had proposed I speak next Fall has a policy of not sponsoring mediums who channel.  I felt a rush of varied human emotions, and immediately prayed for guidance.  I didn’t need guidance on how to react to the church.  That’s easy:  just send love!  My personal challenge was how to deal with my insecurity about channeling.  It’s ironic that when I doubt this process, what do I do?  I ask for higher guidance and write down what I hear.  What is that process called?  Channeling!

Sanaya’s answer to my request for guidance was lengthy and worth posting:

You give yourself a name, and that becomes who you are permanently in the human mind.  There is no room for expansion.  How limiting is a name!  it does not allow you to think outside the box and most especially to express outside the box.  And what happens when you begin to access information normally inaccessible to the one with a name?  this defies your sense of sensibility—this wisdom, these things unknown to the one with a name.  And so, you ask for a name, and a name is given to the source of the words.  You then ask, “Is it a guide?”  And the answer is yes.  Others ask, “Is it an angel?”  And the answer is yes.  “Is it God?”  And the answer is yes.  “Is it you?”  The answer is yes!

How often have we said it, and in how many forms?  There is only one Mind, one Consciousness. 

Who is Sanaya?  One aspect of the entire Consciousness—just as you are!  Sanaya is a bit higher than normally accessible by the one who holds the pen—quite a bit higher at times.  If the words are spoken aloud and they come out in a strange voice, this merely indicates the higher place along the spectrum of consciousness from which the words are accessed.

Is Sanaya the one who holds the pen?  Yes.  Can the one who holds the pen access Sanaya at will?  This depends upon the state of consciousness at the time of the asking.  Can anyone access Sanaya?  Yes, just as anyone can access Jesus, Buddha, or God, or their guides and angels, and even the mind of their best friend and partner in human form.  We say it again:  there is only one Mind, one Consciousness, but infinitely infinite levels of Consciousness … one Ocean.

Will you remain but one wave and limit your access to the ocean because others do not understand this?  Or will you stroke out boldly and enjoy a swim in the entire sea of which you are an inseparable part?  This is channeling:  not remaining stuck and limited as a human being with a name, but realizing that guidance, direction, wisdom, and the answers you seek lie not within the brain.  All is a part of the one Mind.  Reach out now and attune to Sanaya, to Abraham, to Zarathustra, if you must have a new name for this higher wisdom you access in doing so, but reach higher, my friend.  Always reach higher if you wish to grow.

Not By Chance

Pay attention to signs around you.  They are everywhere.  These are the Universe’s way of speaking to you.  Higher Consciousness speaks to you in thought all the time, but you do not hear it or cannot through the constant chatter.  And so we work with the guides and higher consciousness of others to bring together events that will hit you between the eyes, so to speak.

“What a coincidence!” you cry, and we laugh at your surprise.  Had you any idea how much effort goes into orchestrating these actual planned events that you chalk up to mere chance you would give us far more credit.  It is not credit we seek, but your attention.  And so we get it in the form of synchronicity. 

Do not merely shrug off these attention-getting moments, but stop, turn your eyes skyward and your attention inward, and pass along a bit of acknowledgment and gratitude.  It is much appreciated, for in this way you finally acknowledge that we are with you and we are all part of The One.

When Things Heat Up

Do you fight fire with fire?  Perhaps you do.  And does it work to put out the original fire?  Of course not.  It only adds to the conflagration.  When anything less than the highest vibration is present, you do not bring in more of the lower vibration.   You raise the current vibrations by bringing in more love.  It is so very simple, yet so many fail to understand this most basic principle.

When another "gets in your face," as you put it, what happens when you do the same in response?  You fan the flames.  You have a flare-up.  What happens if you release the flow of love, instead?  In fact, what if you invite those around you to surround the one who burns with all of your love?  Why, the heat will be instantly smothered.  Try it.  You will be amazed, and you will laugh at how it took you so long to see how two egos clashing will always produce nothing but sparks, but the ego that is met with a flow of love will cool down instantly.

Reason to Celebrate

Do not look with disdain upon another who has what you want.  Be happy for them, instead.  You do not yet realize that they are you in the grander sense.  By thinking thoughts of lower vibrations, you lower your vibrations.  Send that one love and good will instead.  You are in this way blessing yourself as much as you bless them.  What you think does indeed come back to you, and so it behooves you to send love to all.

Envy does not become you, nor do you become a more developed soul by surrounding yourself with such thoughts.  Celebrate another's success and then you will truly have reason to celebrate.

Your Lens Cleaners

Treasure every moment that you spend with a good friend.  More so than even your family members with whom you share challenges, your friends allow you to feel and express love.  With them you are honest.  With them you  "let it all hang out," and in so doing you help to purify the human form so that the soul may shine.  After a while with a good friend you can return to your family—your greatest teachers—and see them in a new light, for your lenses have been cleaned just a bit.

Treasure your friends—your lens cleaners … your soul shiners—and know that you do the same for them.

Inspired

Inspiration can come from any source—from a beautiful scene, a word heard in passing, an incident that lodges in the mind … and then, as if by magic, a new idea comes to you and you are off and running, your creative juices flowing.  What is it that caught your attention, and why?  These are nudges from Spirit.  "Pay attention," they say.  "We want you to stop for a moment and take full notice."

Where does inspiration come from?  The very word holds the answer:  In Spirit.  All that inspires you is of Spirit.  Every thought you have is of Spirit.  You, my friend, are of Spirit and in Spirit.  When you stop and allow yourself to be in-spired you are allowing beauty to be present.

Infinite Expression

NOTE FROM SUZANNE:  I heard the first line of this message from Sanaya and recognized they were giving me yet another poem.  When the second verse came through, I balked, thinking, “Wait a minute, they changed the rhyming scheme.  That’s not right!”  Then Spirit’s brilliance became evident as the rhyming pattern and the rhythm changed yet again in the third verse, and in this way the poem teaches the very meaning of its words BY EXAMPLE—just as it says in the fourth line:  “in such a way a lesson’s taught.”  (Remember that these words flow forth in under five minutes with no active thinking on my part.  I had no idea what was coming.) 


I had thought “that’s not right,” when in fact, the switching of rhyme and meter could not have been more perfect.  We have set ideas in our minds of how things should be, but here Sanaya shows us with a remarkable poem that consciousness is infinite and infinitely creative.  May we all continue to create beauty and love in our world as co-creators with the Great Creator!


In a poem the words do rhyme.
They have a rhythm set in time.
They carry meaning and invoke thought
In such a way a lesson’s taught.

The world you see is one great verse.
It speaks and sings its song.
We change the rhyme so you will see
The diversity that poems bring along.

It matters not what words we use.
The meter we do choose.
If back and forth we bounce.
It matters not if all makes sense.
If we use terms like “thus” and “whence,”
None of it matters not an ounce.

What matters is the act—
The act of taking mind,
And using it to make a verse
Where some, true wisdom they will find.

This is how creation works
As consciousness unfolds
In just the perfect form and shape
Like clay placed into molds.

Beauty and expression—
So limitless are they
When placed together to create
In just the perfect way.

Rise Above

Love is the impetus behind all good deeds.  It is fear that is the impetus behind evil.  What is fear, but the opposite end of the spectrum of love.  Do not fear evil.  Bring love into the picture.  So radiate such high emanations of love, knowing this is your essence, that anything other than love cannot enter your field.

Fear is a very human emotion.  The soul is quite aware of its true nature.  It is only being surrounded by those who have fully bought into their humanness that causes others to entrain to that lower vibration.  Rise above, my friend.  Rise above your human nature to the level of the soul.  There you will find no fear, for there you exist as your True Self:  Love. 

Go forth today as Love in action and see no evil.

Bookends

When your world becomes hectic and crazed, you forget easily who you are.  You slip into doing-mode instead of being-mode.  Who is doing the doing?  Are you acting alone?  When your life becomes crazed, it becomes far too easy for you to believe that you are.

Ideally, you would remember to check in with Spirit frequently throughout your day.  In human form this often falls by the wayside.  Book-end your days then with a deliberate period of communion, be it in prayer or meditation or both.  This will be time well spent. 

There is no need to rush about feeling harried.  Stop, take a breath, and connect.  This is the secret to balance.

Internal Guidance

Step out with no fear
You walk with too much trepidation.
We will make the way clear
So that you walk with no hesitation.

It's easy to trust when you see.
Where, we ask, is the challenge in that?
But if you truly desire to fly free
You will see with the eyes of a bat.

This creature knows not where it goes.
If flies with the sole sense of feel. 
By sensation alone the bat knows
And in this way its guidance is real.

What if you were to fly in this way?
Can you see how your life would be changed?
With great trust you would step out and play
From true guidance no longer estranged.

Surrender and trust are the keys.
Yet these do not come without cost
When the ego you no longer please
Then false separation is lost.

Not a bad thing to find you were wrong.
And for years you did struggle alone
That the guidance was there all along
You are free now that this truth it is known.

Bitter and Sweet

Cranberries are a deceptive fruit.  They look so sweet and tempting, yet when consumed are bitter to the taste.  Not all is as it seems in your world.  Have you not heard of a wolf in sheep's clothing?  Why is this?  Because the physical world is one of duality:  hard and soft, sweet and bitter.  There is great purpose in this.  Once you have tasted sweetness, you will spend a lifetime searching for more of it, eschewing bitterness along the way. 

Yours is a world of trial and error.  You will try the fruits of the physical realm one by one until you find the most sweet and ripe.  That is why you are there.  Do not bemoan the bitter fruits, for they propel you ever onward, ever upward, knowing that something far sweeter yet exists, and this is true.  This is true at the micro level and at the macro. 

The Sweetest Fruit is yet to be tasted.  Never lose faith in this fact.  It is yours for the taking, but you must keep reaching higher, knowing that the journey for now may be bittersweet.

Always on Call

You send your ambulances when there is an emergency that requires a rapid response.  They respond immediately for physical concerns, but what of emotional or spiritual crises?  Who are the first responders then?  Your Personal Ambulance Crew is always at the ready, but when you get in crisis mode, it is hard for them to get through the door.  You must help yourself first, and it is very simple:  Stop what you are doing, sit down, and take several deep breaths.  You must get ahold of your thoughts, which easily spin out of control, causing a physical reaction in the form of various hormones coursing through the body, further aggravating the situation. 

Sit quietly and breathe.  Talk to yourself in a calming way until Help arrives in the form of a warm blanket that settles over you and once again you know that everything will be all right.  This too shall pass.  Your Emergency Response Team is always on call, but you must call them.

Regeneration

The blooming cycle.  Why do cacti not have flowers year-round?  In all things there is a period of rest and regeneration.  All of your flowering plants are like this.  Do you not see that you are like this as well, for all of life operates in cycles.  You cannot produce and produce great things constantly.  There are always periods of rest and regeneration.  Thus, when it does come time to bloom once again, the flowers burst forth with full beauty, fully fragrant.

Do not grow discouraged when you think you have grown a bit stagnant.  Recognize this as a needed time of rest.  In this awareness, fear fades away, allowing you to flower in tune with your natural rhythms. 

Relax and let nature take its proper course.

Can You Believe That?

There is only one Mind.  We can say this a thousand times and still you think you walk alone.  How do you explain synchronicity?  How do you explain mediumship?  How do you explain telepathy?  How do you explain Love?  All is Energy.  All is Consciousness.  All is the Divine Mind experiencing itself.  And so, you delight when there is "an incredible coincidence."  You think you and another must be thinking the same way.  Quite so.  What have we been telling you all along?  There is only One Mind doing the thinking.

Do us a favor and continue to hold this thought in your little aspect of that Mind and one day you will stop being so surprised.  It is quite all right to be delighted at the seeming coincidences.  Your Mind enjoys the delight, but allow that delight to lift you up into more of a sense of Oneness.  Returning to the state of complete and utter Love is what all of this is about anyway.
