Note from Suzanne: I received an email from one of Sanaya's followers who felt the need to vent. This person said that they did not know how I felt about the recent elections and knew that it didn't matter. They wanted help from Sanaya in dealing with their emotions over the results of the election. I went to my reading room, entered a state of deep meditation, and asked Sanaya what she/they had to say to this person. I recorded the words that came out, transcribed them, and sent them to this person. Sanaya's answer helped the person for whom they were intended, so I am sharing them here in hopes that they will help anyone else who may benefit from them. I have since seen several emails being sent around the internet that reflect incredibly heated emotions that only serve to divide us. When those emails full of anger, fear, and other low vibrations find their way into your inbox, may I remind you of Sanaya's advice to step back and say: "
Isn't that interesting!"
Wishing you peace in your heart...
Sanaya says:
To the one who is grieving the perceived loss of the
country, we wish to ask you, what is a country, but an arbitrary delineation—a grouping
of peoples based on geography within your world. Country borders can change. The make-up of those individuals living
within these borders can change, and HAS changed in that which you call “your
country.” It is not a thing, but in
actuality a concept. And all concepts
and all things are constantly in flux, subject to change.
The problems begin when you hold this concept so firmly in
your mind that you do not allow for growth and for change. You see, the Creator has endowed each of you
with free will … the ability to choose. And
it is this very free will, and the very choices made by human beings, which
bring about change. When you are stuck
in a pattern and that around you changes, you do experience angst. You make the choice to be at peace with
change or to suffer.
The only thing which never changes is you as spirit. It is part of the human experience to
experience change. How you react to it
determines the level of peace you find. This
change in your so-called government is the result of free choice, of the use of free will given
to you by the Creator. And now it is up
to you how you choose to respond.
When there is a death of one who is close to you, yes, you
grieve. If there is a death of one who
is not close to you, you pay no attention at all. The very fact that you are grieving the
so-called “loss” of your country is because you held it so near and dear to
you. But nothing stays the same. It is you who needs to change if you wish to
feel peace in your heart.
You make the choice whether to change along with things that
are changing, or not change. And if you
choose to remain rigidly stuck in a concept which is merely an illusion, then
you will experience continued angst. Why
are some rejoicing whilst others are suffering?
All is perception. Is one wrong and
one right? Ask one who is
rejoicing. You will experience quite a
different opinion. This is not to say
that you need to change your opinion. The
choice, my friend, is how you choose to react.
Can you look upon those who are rejoicing and see that they have made a
choice?
Perhaps your economy will be different than you
envisioned. Perhaps your version of government
will be different than you envisioned. But
all of this is a learning experience, and all of it giving you repeated
opportunities to look upon the changes for what they are: opportunities for growth (in learning to respond with peace).
You are buffeted about by the changes around you, and you
allow them to affect your moods. Rise above
all of this. Rise above the challenges
and the changes and simply be that which you are: the state of love … a state of consciousness
that never changes. Pay attention to
your moods and see how you are allowing humanness to affect the spirit, when in
fact, life is the other way around. It is
Spirit that is in charge.
There is not right or wrong, merely opinions of what is
best. And it is those opinions which
shape your reactions to the world around you.
In reality, what has changed from this time and moment now and one now-moment
one week ago in what you would know as time?
It is all perception, and that becomes your reality. But the only reality is that you are
spirit. That never changes. Do you wish to continue grieving? That is your choice.
Peace is a choice. When
you get to the point where you could perceive that all is falling apart around
you and still find peace within your heart, for you know that the temporary
world is not your true home, then you have arrived. Until that time, beware of the grief. It is not necessary. Rise above it. Look down upon yourself with compassion. When you can feel the same compassion for
those who make choices apart from those that you would make, then you will
truly find peace.
Suffering is not necessary.
