What happens when you worry?
Your breathing becomes restricted.
This sets up a cycle of more worry, for the breath and emotions are
intricately intertwined. Fear results in
shallow, rapid breathing. Anger is much
the same. Which thoughts and emotions go
hand-in-hand with deep, slow breathing?
Peace and love. We say “hand-in-hand,”
for when you are in a state of peace, you will find you are breathing deeply
and slowly. Conversely, to reach this
state, you need only do the same – breathe deeply and slowly.
Be aware of the breath, and then be aware that like your emotions and
thoughts, you can control the breath.
Use these choices consciously and wisely. Your days will be all the more bright as you
pull more Light into your life on the breath.
